VISAKHAPATNAM: The YSRCP MLC Ch. Vamsi Krishna Srinivas Yadav joined the Jana Sena Party on Wednesday along with his supporters, giving a big shock to Jagan’s party as he acted as a loyal soldier to the Party’s general secretary and Rajya Sabha member V Vijayasai Reddy.
Vamsi Krishna was the former Visakha City YSRCP president and contested twice from Visakha East and lost to TDP candidate Velagapudi Ramakrishna Babu. Akkaramani Vijayalakshmi had been brought in place of him in the previous elections by YSRCP.
JSP chief Pavan Kalyan welcomed Vamsi Krishna into the party at Jana Sena central office in Mangalagiri. Pavan said that JSP would play a pivotal role in the future of the AP. Vamsi Krishna had worked with him in the Yuvarajyam wing of the Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) in 2009.
Vamsi Krishna Yadav was elected as corporator from Ward 21 in the Greater Visakha Municipal Corporation (GVMC) elections with an alleged promise to made him as Mayor by the high command. But a woman from his community was made as mayor and Vamsi resigned from the post of City President. Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy gave him a chance for MLC from local bodies. Vamsi was elected as MLC in the fag end of 2021.
“Many leaders joined YSRCP by expecting the development of North Andhra. But they understood the development of YSRCP and are returning. Vamsi came to his home and he would get priority definitely,’ Pavan said.
JSP political affairs committee chairman Nadendla Manohar said that Vamsi had vast experience in politics and he strived hard to strengthen the YSRCP. Vamsi Krishna Srinivas is aspiring to contest from Visakha South or Bheemili. His supporters say that it would not be possible in YSRCP as sitting MLAs are also strongly showing their strength.
Vamsi said that he was associated with the YSRCP party even before the party was started by Jagan Mohan Reddy. “I was associated with the Praja Rajyam Party. I came back to my home. I joined PRP as a fan of the Pavan. I do not have any feelings about changing the party. I left YSRCP due to a few forces and faced many insults. Many leaders will join JSP in the future. I have a wish to see Pavan as a Chief Minister. I will associate with life long,” Vamsi said.
