Saamna slams Devendra Fadnavis’s doctorate | India News – Times of India

MUMBAI: The Shiv Sena (UBT) on Wednesday took a dig at Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis over him getting an honorary doctorate from Japan’s Koyasan University. The Sena (UBT) said in Saamna, the party mouthpiece said that in Maharashtra, farmers, unemployed people are committing suicide every day and it is probably for this great achievement that Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is being honoured with the title of ‘Doctorate’.
“It is understood that a university in Japan awarded him this ‘doctorate’ for his work for social equality. Social equality and progressive thinking have been thrown to the winds in the state. At present, the situation has gone out of hand due to conflicts between Maratha, OBC and other communities. Maharashtra knows who is behind it. Now Devendra Fadnavis will have the title of ‘Dr.’ Chief Minister Shinde was also awarded the title of ‘Dr.’ for social work by some organization. But during the current government in Maharashtra, 3,000 farmers got titles like ‘late’ before their names,” Saamna edit stated.
“People like Dr Fadnavis are patting themselves on the thigh and saying, ‘What is the contribution of Shiv Sena in the fight for Ram Mandir? Come to Ayodhya if you dare, a temple has been built…Hindus do not agree with the poster saying that Modi, the Thirteenth Avatar of Vishnu, has gone to the Ram temple holding Lord Ram’s finger. Has Modi become bigger than Ram? If someone else had printed such a poster, BJP would have rang bells and played cymbals on the streets shouting ‘Hindutva has been insulted.’ But the picture of Modi going to the Ram temple and Lord Ram holding his finger does not disturb the BJP,” the editorial stated.
On Tuesday, Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut took a dig at the BJP over the inauguration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya next month and invitation being extended to top political leaders saying that PM Narendra Modi was the only ‘VIP’ in the country. BJP Minister Girish Mahajan has said that around 8000-8500 people were invited for the inauguration and Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray may not be in the center’s VVIP list, so he may not be invited but MNS chief Raj Thackeray could be invited by the centre.
