Organisational role may be coming Shivraj’s way | India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Tuesday said he was ready to take any responsibility decided for him by the party and also hinted that an organisational assignment is coming his way as he said that he will be part of the party’s campaign for the Lok Sabha polls mainly in southern states.
Chouhan on Tuesday called on BJP president JP Naddaafter which he was seen in “cheerful” mood.”As party worker, I will carry out whatever role is decided for me by the party. Whatever the party decides – I will be in the state as well as Centre… If you are working on a big mission, it is the party that makes decisions,” Chouhan told reporters after meeting Nadda for over 45 minutes at the latter’s residence.
The former four-time CM said there is a possibility that he will be given responsibility in the party organisation. “I might be asked to take part in the party’s campaign in the south,” he said.
Asked about the recent videos with ‘laadli behena’ beneficiaries, Chouhan said the bonding between a brother and a sister remains eternal.
A few days ago, Chouhan said he would “rather die” than ask for something from his party. “I wanted to say humbly that I would rather die than go (to Delhi) and ask for something for myself. This is not what I do,” Chouhan had told reporters in Bhopal, a day after Mohan Yadav was nominated as his replacement.
Chouhan was the chief minister of Madhya Pradesh for two stints – from November 2005 to December 2018 and March 2020 to December 2023. BJP lost under his leadership in the 2018 assembly elections but then regained power after a split in the ruling Congress party in 2020.
