CHANDIGARH: The Punjab and Haryana high court has dismissed the bail petitions of two aides of arrested radical Sikh preacher Amritpal Singh in the Ajnala police station attack case, saying that none could be allowed to interfere in the administration of justice or cause harm to law enforcers in the line of duty by unleashing a mob on them.
“Considering the gravity of the offences, this court is not inclined to release the petitioners on regular bail, merely because they have suffered incarceration of eight months,” Justice Kuldeep Tiwari said.
There were also hearing petitions filed by Ajaypal Singh, alias Shiv Kumar, and Bhupinder Singh, alias Sheru.
The FIR pertaining to the Ajnala police station siege was filed on February 24.
The petitioners argued that there had been an “inordinate delay” in the registration of the FIR.
Their counsel also contended that the duo wasn’t in any of the photographs and videos of the attack.
