Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan has delivered back-to-back superhit performances this year. With his latest release, ‘Dunki‘, the actor is again getting praised for his acting skills.
Recently, the director Rajkumar Hirani of the film ‘Dunki’ talked about his experience collaborating with Shah Rukh Khan. Rajkumar revealed that he used to put on an eye mask and earplugs during his shots. He also revealed why it took him decades to unite with the actor.
In a conversation with News18, Rajkumar Hirani said that he was enamored by Shah Rukh Khan’s charm. He would put on an eye mask and earplugs when he was giving a shot. Once he finished, his assistant would tell me, ‘Sir, shot khatam ho gaya hai,’ and then he would open his eyes (laughs). On a serious note, he stated that Shah Rukh is an amazing actor and an even better person.
The director further added that it took him two years to graduate from the film institute, and by that time, Shah Rukh Khan had become a huge star (laughs). So, he had to wait for 20 years to collaborate with him on a film.
Dunki is a comedy-drama based on the illegal immigration technique of donkey flights. Apart from Shah Rukh, the film also features Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Boman Irani, Vikram Kochhar, and Anil Grover. Billed as a saga of friendships, borders, nostalgia for home, and love, it is directed from a script Rajkumar co-wrote with Abhijaat Joshi and Kanika Dhillon.
