Bihar’s deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav denies rift in GA, slams BJP | India News – Times of India

PATNA: Amid reports of conflicts in the ruling Bihar alliance, RJD leader and deputy chief minister Tejashwi Prasad Yadav on Thursday accused the opposition of floating stories about cracks in the Grand Alliance in a bid to “hide” some big achievements of the state government.
Talking to the media in Patna, Tejashwi said the opposition had been constantly “planting stories” to deny the ruling Grand Alliance the credit of taking many steps in people’s interest but such tricks won’t work.
“They floated similar rumours when the GA government started a caste survey and then hiked the limit of quota percentage for various social groups in the state. Now that they have again taken a major decision to grant 4.5 lakh contractual teachers the status of state government employees, the opposition is again spreading rumours about cracks in the ruling alliance,” Tejashwi told the media on Thursday.
Stoutly denying conflicts in the alliance, Tejashwi asked how many times they would have to give clarifications that everything is fine with the ruling coalition.

“Nahin manana hai to na mane

(If you don’t want to agree, don’t agree),” he said.
Stating that every party holds a meeting at the national level, the RJD leader said his party also held one such meeting in Delhi last year. “It’s nonsense to talk about cracks in the ruling coalition,” he alleged.
Tejashwi’s reactions come a day after BJP MP Sushil Kumar Modi claimed the JD(U) had been deliberately planting “Nitish-going-back-to-NDA” stories in the media as a part of strategy to keep a check on its dominating allies, the RJD and the Congress, stating that BJP’s doors for the Bihar CM had been closed.
The BJP has also alleged that Nitish is very much annoyed over the way he was not appointed the convener of the INDIA bloc, let aside projecting him as its face, and could take some drastic decisions but the JD(U) has rubbished such claims.
“Sushil Modi has turned hopeless and is making such allegations out of this. His statements are not only false but also irresponsible,” JD(U)’s national general secretary Rajib Ranjan has said, asserting that in no case, Nitish would do anything without taking the consent of the entire setup. “No question of shifting to BJP,” he claimed.
