NEW DELHI: Ready for a commercial launch, the newly built airport at Ayodhya will be named as Maharishi Valmiki International Airport, Ayodhyadham. Government sources confirmed the naming of the airport at the holy town after Valmiki, the author of epic “Ramayan”.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will unveil the airport on December 30, ahead of the consecration ceremony at the Ram Temple, scheduled for January 22.
The government has decided to rename the railways station as Ayodhya Dham. The PM will inaugurate the revamped station too during his day-long visit to the holy town, which is being decked up for the consecration ceremony.
The new airport is to begin flight operations from January 6. Airlines will provide flights connecting to significant cities to accommodate the daily influx of visitors to the Ram Temple, following the consecration ceremony.
