NEW DELHI: The government on Wednesday declared the Muslim League Jammu Kashmir (Masarat Alam faction) (MLJK-MA) as an unlawful association under UAPA.
The association, chaired by Masarat Alam Bhat, has been involved in ‘anti-India and pro-Pakistan propaganda‘. Bhat is a key leader of stone pelting protests in Kashmir in 2010.
“This organization and its members are involved in anti-national and secessionist activities in J&K supporting terrorist activities and inciting people to establish Islamic rule in J&K,” Union home minister Amit Shah posted on X.
