At the trailer launch of his upcoming film, ‘The Vaccine War‘, Nana Patekar took a dig at the films like Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Jawan’ and Sunny Deol starrer ‘Gadar 2‘ making record-breaking collections at the box office.
Now, in a new interview with News18, Nana showered praises on SRK. He said that Shah Rukh is a great artist. He also recalled working with the actor in ‘Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman‘.Nana also went on to share that he was the one who had told King Khan that he is going to be a big star some day.
Elaborating further, Nana also added they don’t meet and talk regularly but whenever they do meet, it is like the good old days. He also clarified that he has absolutely no issues with SRK. Nana added that he considers Shah Rukh Khan as one of his own.At the trailer launch of ‘The Vaccine War’, Nana had disclosed that he had watched a film that had been enjoying considerable success at the box office. However, he added that he couldn’t endure sitting through the entire movie. He expressed his belief that a particular type of film is being produced, and audiences are being compelled to watch them. As an analogy, he mentioned his intention to groom his son into an actor and present him to the audience, even if he initially lacks proficiency in the craft. The actor believed that after featuring in 5-10 films, people would gradually overlook his shortcomings and learn to embrace his talent. He drew a parallel between this scenario and the current state of filmmaking.

Although Nana didn’t take the name of any film in his statement, he is clearly pointing at either ‘Gadar 2’ or ‘Jawan’. Both the films have been doing a record-breaking business at the box office.
Meanwhile, ‘The Vaccine War’ also stars Anupam Kher, Nana Patekar, Sapthami Gowda, and Pallavi Joshi in the lead roles. It is slated to hit the theatres on September 28.
